Old Dog Wisdoms: Part 3

May 17th, 2013 | Posted by Emily in Doggies! | Elderbulls | Old Dog Wisdoms | Rufus - (4 Comments)

More wisdoms are flooding in from my doggy friends around the world… like this one from my good friend and elderbull, Kamanchi, who knows the best way to get noms…

My buddy Boomer from Adventures of a Dog Momknows that the older you get, the less you worry about your bodily functions (and that is totally okay)…
My friend Piper is 12.5 years young. She is a guest blogger on Miss Lucy Red from time-to-time, and she is a master nom negotiator…

And here is a little bit of wisdoms from me, Rufus, your Wisdoms Gondolier of Life!

* If you want to share some of your Old Dog Wisdoms, email your wisdoms and a photo to my mama at {ourwaldobungie@gmail.com} *
** Oh, and happy 5th anniversary to my mom and dad! If they were dogs, they’d have been married for 35 years! If they were celebrities, they would have one of the longest marriages in Hollyweird! Yay mom and dad! **

Hey! Moby the Mobemeister here! Guess what? I love the swimmings!

While my first love is still the ‘bee, and my second love is still the Thean Bean, my third love for sure is the swimmings!

Foster Mama took me to the park and was like, “hey you wanna swim?” and I was like, “glug glug glug” because I was already in the water!

Where are all the mermaids?!

It wasn’t all fun and games though. Just like at Lake Jacomo, Shawnee Mission Lake was also very, very dirty so I had to get to work cleaning. I couldn’t believe all the other dogs in the lake were just swimming. Did they not see all the work we had to do?!

Help me move this log, dudes!

I also met this dog, who didn’t even like the water and kept running away from it and hiding behind his parents. Lame.

Dumb water-hating puppy

I swam and swam and swum until I couldn’t swim or swam or swum anymore. It was fantastic! Did I mention that the swimmings are my third favorite thing?

Oh, and my fourth favorite thing? Splashing Foster Mama… hehehehehehe! XOXO, Moby “Canine Michael Phelps” Wonderdog

Rufus here… back with the second installment of Old Dog Wisdoms

This time, I got some of my old friends to disperse some of their best wisdoms to you whipper snappers. For instance, my good friend John (who is up for the adoptions in NYC) has some wise words about dressing for the occasion…

My friend Baby Girl (who is not really a baby anymore because she just turned 8!) also has some wise wisdoms to share about what can get you into trouble (although I never get in trouble so I just have to take her word on this one)…

And this last one is from my home girl Sadie in Portland…

That’s it for this week… I am going to take Sadie’s wisdoms to heart and go settle in for a snooze… but if your old dog has some wisdoms to share, send them to my mama (with a photo) to {ourwaldobungie@gmail.com}.

 XOXO, Rufus

I lurve leather. I love how it feels, how it smells, and most importantly, how it looks. So you can imagine my excitement when I heard that Jen from Sirius Republic was rolling out a line of leather collars. Then I met this dude and his SR “Freebird” collar and my excitement grew…

Then while I was fraggle rockin’ all over the greater D.C. metro area I got an email from Jen at Sirius telling me that I had received a hefty gift certificate to her website from a blog reader* (who wished to remain anonymous). What?!

Gimme that leather!

So I immediately scoured the Sirius site, emailed back and forth with Jen and Daniel (of course) about options (I am terrible at making decisions without some input), and settled on the Brass Monkey for the Turkus. And let me tell you, he looks good in leather!

But the fun doesn’t stop there! Jen also kindly sent Moby his very own collar** too! But not just any collar, the first ever Sirius Republic  leather “Adopt Me” collar!

Jen has been offering free “adopt me” embroidery on her fabric collars for years – we used one with Miss Ginger Rogers a few years back – but Moby’s is the first of the leather variety. I love how the painted black letters pop off the supple tan leather… and how the brass buckle looks so cool…there will be no shortage of attention when we take Mobe-a-Lobe out on the town in his new collar. I could barely stop taking photos of him!

While Turk tends to be a bit camera shy, Moby was proudly strutting around the yard showing off his new accessory… I think we might have another Sirius super model on our hands…

* Thank you so much to whomever bought me the gift certificate to Sirius Republic! It was such a nice surprise!
** While I did receive Moby’s leather collar at no cost from Sirius Republic, I was not asked to blog about it. I blogged about it on my own accord out of my love for the product! Thank you, Jen!
