Ha! I’m glad you got a kick out of that! There’s a golden retriever in my house who’s not very treat motivated…
I am not sure I would know what to do with a non-treat-motivated dog!!!
We are working on getting her attention BEFORE she sees something that could distract her. Then we use lots of “happy talk” to get her to pay attention to us. It’s a heck of a lot tougher than just shoving hot dogs in her face though!
Athena doesn’t ever want the noms if other dogs are around to play with. She loses all interest in food (which she is totally obsessed with) and acts like we do not exist. Maybe someday Athena and Polly will get it together!?

I have 2 non-food motivated weirdos, sigh. People think it’s weird that I get excited about them actually eating a darn treat at the store, it means they’re finally relaxing a little.
