First impression: The outside of the restaurant wasn’t super exciting, but the inside was beautiful (even the bathroom was beautiful)!
Food: All of it was wonderful!
To start, we got the deviled eggs, which were perfectly mustard-y and kind of vinegar-y, and I instantly wished we’d ordered more than two!
Next came the salads – Daniel got the arugula (apples, Maytag bleu cheese, pumpkin seed brittle, roasted grapes, and sour cherry vinaigrette) and I got the Caesar (pretty basic but with a twist – garlic lime dressing). I’ll admit that I preferred Daniel’s salad to mine but both were very good.
For the main course, Daniel got the Summit Burger (simple but delicious) and I got the grilled cheese made with brie, Emmentaler, and white cheddar (so incredibly delicious!). According to our waiter, the grilled cheese sandwich has won several “best of” in the KC area and I can see why – it was perfectly crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside.
We were stuffed after the main course but decided to get dessert anyways – bread pudding. It was okay but definitely not as great as the rest of the meal.
Service: We were super impressed with our server (I can’t remember his name but he was great!) He was super helpful in giving us recommendations and didn’t smother us during the meal (don’t you hate when your server won’t leave you alone while you’re eating?)
Overall we were really impressed with the restaurant! If you get a chance, check it out!
